I am a huge fan of home decor and the stories it can tell. There are so many different genres that there is literally something for everyone! As the years go by I become more and more obsessed with farmhouse decor and have begun delving into the ins and outs to find exactly what story I want my home to tell. I am starting to see more French influence in farmhouse decor and decided to take a deeper look into this beautiful decor genre.

French Farmhouse style, also known as French Country style, is exactly what it sounds like. Reminiscent of the French countryside, this interior design genre sparks a balance between rustic and elegance. It is the more lived in approach to ornate French decor. Many farmhouse decor lovers bring in traditional French Country elements such as weathered decor pieces, white washed furniture, exposed beams and wood planked floors. I have gathered some of my favorite living room spaces and the basic ideas that truly capture the French farmhouse beauty!

French Country Decor Basics

Some basics to to consider as you create a stunning French Country style in your living room are:

One. A white or cream colored sofa

Two. Natural wood toned furniture such as hutches and coffee tables

Three. Neutral patterns like pin stripes and muted florals
