I’m not gonna lie, the title of this post is a little misleading. “Must haves” like I am an experienced mama, haha. I am brand new to all of this and have spend days and weeks putting my baby registry together and I still don’t feel like it is ready. However, I have found some great pieces that I would love to share.
I chose Babylist as my registry when I first found out I was pregnant and I have not regretted it since! Babylist is a one stop shop registry that compares the same product from different stores to find the best price. To find out more about why I love this registry check out my Hello Baby Box from Babylist post!
Baby Registry Must Haves
The big essentials I started with first were a crib, stroller, high chair and other furniture type items. Andrew and I have been very specific about the items we choose making sure that they are versatile and can be used for years and babies to come. We are also fairly neutral people and haven’t been a huge fan of colorful, patterned things. Here are some great options we found for fellow minimalists.
Baby Furniture Essentials
Adjustable High Chair – Found at Walmart for $65.89. It was important to us that we find a high chair with minimal fabric to make cleaning way easier!
Joovy Spoon Walker – Available at Amazon and Walmart for $79.99
Graco Pack ‘n Play Snuggle Suite – Found at Amazon and Target for $198.99 seems a little expensive but I have some reasoning behind it!
I was searching and searching for a more minimalist baby seat that wasn’t crazy patterned etc and was having difficulty finding one I liked. Most bouncer seats I found cost hundreds of dollars which is not realistic. With this pack ‘n play set not only does it come with a full blown play yard but also has a bouncer included with it that I really like. Though it makes the play yard a little more expensive it is a great two in one deal so you don’t have to buy a bouncer seat separately!
Hatch Sound Machine – Found at Target, Walmart and Amazon for $59.99
Love to Dream Swaddle – Found at Amazon for $28.46. I watch a few amazing Youtube mamas and have noticed that all of them have recommended this swaddle. It covers baby up and keeps her from scratching yet lets her wiggle those arms as well!
Boon Soak 3-Stage Bathtub – Found at Amazon and Walmart for $29.99, perfect for growing baby and toddler stages.
25 piece Healthcare and Grooming Kit – Found at Amazon for $15.92. I love this kit! As a first time mom I am nervous that I won’t have everything I need for baby and this kit ensures that I will have at least a good amount of items just in case.
Bamboo White Nursing Pillow – Found at Walmart and Amazon for $27.99. This is just a plain bobby seat, however, it brings the opportunity of purchasing covers for it and making it easier to keep clean and wash when needed.
Dr.Browns Original Bottle Feeding Set – Found at Target and Amazon for $23.21. These bottles were my first baby registry item. I have heard from family that bottles have definitely come a long way and the Dr.Browns line helps with colic, burping and gas and limits the air intake while feeding. Though I haven’t tried them in person yet I am hopeful that they will be a top choice!
Infantino 4-in-1 Carrier – Found at Amazon, Walmart and Target for $29.99
Leather Backpack Diaper Bag – Found on Amazon for $39.99. One thing my friends with babies have recommended to me is grabbing a backpack diaper bag so you can be hands free instead of juggling bags and the baby all at the same time. And who says it can’t be stylish??
The remainder of my baby registry consists of more specific items. One item I just recently added was a winterized car seat cover seeing as baby will be coming in the middle of winter in Maine. Last week we found out we are having a girl (!!!) so you better believe bows and such have been added as well.
What is your most highly recommended baby registry item?
