Valentine’s day is right around the corner. And while you don’t have to get your loved one material items to show your love, it is still fun to give them a little something. What’s even better is making it yourself! Save some money on the wrapping paper by making your own gift wrap out of items you have at home.
What You’ll Need:
- Apple Barrel Acrylic Paint (I used shades Cameo Pink and Bright Red)
- Foam Sponge Brushes – regular brushes will work just fine!
- Easel Paper Roll
- Kraft Paper Roll – If you have leftover paper bags lying around those would work perfect too! Bring it back to the middle school book covering days.
Valentine’s Day Gift Wrap #1
Measure and cut out the size of your paper to ensure that it will wrap around your gift. Use an old piece of cardboard and cut out different shaped hearts to create your own DIY stencil.
Take light pink shade and fill in the small heart stencil. Create rows the length of your paper and let dry. Pattern one done!
Valentine’s Day Gift Wrap #2
Once again, cut and measure the size of paper you need to wrap your gift. Create a larger sized heart stencil, your red paint and a permanent marker. This cute take on x’s and o’s is so easy! Write X multiple times in a row and leave a blank spot randomly for the heart stencil. Do this for each row in an non-uniform manner. And here you have it!
Last step before wrapping is to let your pieces dry. It only took about 30 minutes for me, however, still test before you use each sheet. Wrap your loved ones’ gifts with your homemade gift wrap to make their gift extra special!
Have the best Valentine’s Day/ Galentine’s Day! xo Tayla
